on our way home from the ranch we made a very spontaneous trip to the great salt lake. none of us had ever been so pete tore off the freeway just in time to make the exit and we were on our way to antelope island. we figured we were all ready up that far we may as well. and we were so glad we did. the water was not warm it was hot, and very very salty. the second you got out of the water all the salt would start to crystallize on your skin. we had fun skipping rocks that were worn completely smooth from the salt and water, catching brine shrimp the only living thing in the great salt lake. it was so hot and sunny the sand was incredible and it felt like we were on a sandy beach in mexico. parker and hannah loved wading in the really warm water and looking down to the bottom and seeing all the shrimp.
pete had a really bad sunburn on his neck so he wore his very fashionable beach towel scarf the whole time.
then we went bison or buffalo hunting around the island. we went to the tallest point and tried to find them with no luck. so we ended up driving to the other side of the island and we saw a heard of about a 100. it was such an interesting outing. it was nothing like what i was expecting and who would of that right here in utah there was such a unique place.
